Hot Yoga is a style of yoga that has been scientifically designed to heal, balance and strengthen the body, mind and spirit. The beauty of hot yoga is that it’s designed for everyone from the stressed corporate tycoon, couch potato, busy stayathome mom to high performance athletes. Hot Yoga reenergizes, reorganizes and revitalizes, causing the body and mind to function as intended.
For the student committed to practicing four or more times per week, results are unquantifiable. Not only will the yoga practitioner become more peaceful, focused and energetic, but develop a more youthful appearance, muscle tone, weight management and appetite control.
A hot yoga studio is traditionally 105 degrees with 40 percent humidity. It is best to wear clothes that wick sweat away from your skin in order to keep your body cool. Shorts and a sports bra is preferable to wear during class. I know what you are thinking. “Me…. Wear shorts and a sports bra? NO WAY! That’s not happening!” Once you take your first hot yoga class, your mind will quickly change. Thirty minutes into class you won’t care who is watching and your coverall will be lying beside your water bottle. It’s too hot to notice and judge another yogi’s body or what someone else is wearing.
For the modest yogis, capris or tank tops will have to suffice. Whatever you do, absolutely…. positively….. stay away from cotton and other heat trapping fabrics. Grab your credit card and start shopping for your new hot yoga gear now! Whether a novice or yoga master, Lululemon has everything a hot yogi desires. What do you wear to hot yoga?
I have been practicing yoga for many years now and it has really helped me achieve a great level of fitness. As for my preferred choice of yoga clothing, I usually prefer Leggings more than capris. As for tops, I don’t have any specific choice and simple fitting tops are fine for me.
